The man who allegedly tried to blow up a Northwest Airlines airplane just before landing in Detroit was charged in Federal court Saturday afternoon. Nigerian national Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, 23, was charged with attempting to destroy the aircraft and placing a destructive device on the aircraft.
